It was sort of used in Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem, and also used in the Human Race comic book of Species, but what if the filmmakers decided to have the alien species attack and breed using women that were already expecting? Suppose the alien DNA tries to merge with their unborn offspring and reproduce faster that way? It would also show that, while capable of breeding with non-pregnant women, they can also use pregnant women in a similar fashion as the Predalien did with her victims when she reproduced her mini-army to build her hive before she evolved to her final stage.
