Biography[]

Hastings is the roommate and friend of Dean in the University of Virginia.

Hastings got an e-mail from a girl named Amelia, who was into biochemists, but wanted very specific knowledge before talking further. Hastings found Dean's notebook, and used it to impress Amelia and got a response back. Dean was not not happy hearing it. Hastings was surprise visited by Amelia, and she demanded to know where he got his data. Amelia kidnapped Hastings, and took him to Bruce Abbot's lab with Sara. They wanted Hastings to fertilize Sara's eggs that had been extracted earlier. Hastings stalled for time, and Amelia stabbed him though a leg with her finger-spike. Just as Hastings was about to fertilize the first egg, a smoke grenade was shot though the window, and he took the opportunity to escape. Dean had come to his help, along with Wasach. They then drove to Ashland Generating Facility, where the prototype fusion reactor, Tokamak, was. Hastings and Wasach separated from dean to buy him time. But when Sara caught up with them they passed the egg container on to Dean. Hasting went to control room along with Wasach, but they couldn't do anything as Dean had set up a remote control.

After the events had been swept under the rug by Wasach, life went back to normal for few weeks. Hastings visited Abbot's lab and saw a young boy there and found out that Sara had survived. Hastings blamed Dean for dooming mankind, but calms down after learning that Sara's mate is sterile. Hastings then wonders what would they do if they find out they can have offspring.
